Welcome to The FitzPatrick Family's Website
The paths that make up our family's journey have taken many unexpected turns. Along the varied paths we have traveled, God has been a constant beacon of light, beckoning us to put one foot in front of the other and calling us to Him like a ship in the Perfect Storm. There have been times when it seemed that the beacon was lost in a dense fog or pounding rain. During those times, His light has been and continues to be illuminated through each of you who He has placed in our path to light it with lanterns until we can see the beacon once more. Over the years, and even more so in the last 2 years, the lanterns have served as constant reminders that He has a plan for each of us, and that He never intended for any of us to "go it alone." He wanted us to know each other and stand with each other to share in both Joy and Heartbreak. Our family thanks each one of you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing in our joys and sadness and for reminding us that we are not alone. Our hope is that one day we will be able to pass on even just a small sampling of the love and support that has been given us.
Thank you for stopping by. We hope you will come back often. You will find updates on our family under "The Latest News" tab above. Visit the guestbook or leave a comment on the updates page - we would love to hear from you.

Kevin & Lauren
Did you ever hear the story of the Country Mouse and the City Mouse? Well, Kevin is the City Mouse and I am the Country Mouse. I grew up on a dairy farm in a town of about 500 on Lake Champlain in the southern part of Vermont. Kevin grew up in Bergenfield, New Jersey, a stone's throw from the GW Bridge. The Country Mouse moved out of the country to work in the Big Apple and met the City Mouse in 1986. We married 1988 and moved to Georgia in November of 1991 when Kevin was offered a job here. Our friends and a few of the family who have now moved into the area have made Georgia our home, and we cannot think of another place we would rather live. Kevin now owns Action Automotive, an import auto repair shop in addition to working for Lockheed Martin, and I have just begun my 17th year as a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal. I have worked since 1994 for the same attorney in the Buckhead area of Atlanta and truly love what I do.
Abby
Abby was born on May 21, 1997. She loves school and is a great student. She likes to sing; loves to read and hang out with her friends and family...oh, and aggravate her little brother, Seth. She loves to laugh, has an awesome sense of humor, and she inspires us all with her determination and courage.
Seth
Seth was born on March 18, 2003. On April 7, 2003, we got the call we had been waiting months for, telling us that it was time to meet our son and bring him Home. On April 10, 2003, we met for the first time. What an incredible day! Seth lives life with gusto - he plays with gusto, he gets mad with gusto, he gets happy with gusto, he eats with gusto - whatever he does, he does it BIG! He loves Star Wars, firefighters, soldiers, his sister and his church. He is so proud that he can read now... He is about to start 1st Grade at Mountain Road E.S. He loves to work with his Dad, at home and at the shop. He tackles all that life has to offer head on, and his energy is contagious!!
Jack
Jack was born on June 29, 1994. We were so excited at the birth of our first born child! When he was 3 1/2 years old, he began to have health issues that started our family on a path that has changed the course of our lives forever. After more than 2 years of diligently searching for an answer to his seemingly unrelated areas of medical issues, Jack was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease at the age of almost 6. His heart became affected in May of 2001, and Jack went to Heaven September 2, 2001. He taught us so much about life - - - His smile was contagious; his resilience was astounding; his courage in the midst of pain and suffering was both heartbreaking to see as parents, and awe inspiring at the same time. There is a hole in this Mom's heart and soul that cannot be filled until I see him again, but I am so very grateful and humbled that we were given the gift of being Jack's parents. As we have walked down some sad and painful days in Abby's journey since her diagnosis of Mitochondrial Disease, I gather strength from Jack - I can feel him somedays encouraging me; like he is letting me know that the knowledge and experience that we gained from his manifestation of the disease is his gift to his sister and to us so that we can move forward knowing that he is okay, and she is okay too. At Jack's Memorial Service, a friend of ours said that although Jack may not be physically with us, he has never been more alive than he is today. I hold onto that like a lifeline. You can get to know Jack a little better by clicking on his on the main menu above.
